How to turn your Gas off

The gas valve is off when the 'T' handle is pointing across the pipe. Turn the handle until it resembles the position in the diagram below (Figure 1).

If your meter valve does not have a handle use a wrench or a spanner, and gently turn the valve a 1/4 turn clockwise (e.g. 12 o'clock to 3 o'clock).
To turn gas OFF move the lever a quarter turn clockwise
(eg. 12 – 3 o’clock).
